Milanoi Koiyiet is a human rights lawyer with 15 years of experience in girls’ and women’s rights, children’s rights, and its intersection with disability rights.
Milanoi is currently the Protection, Gender and Inclusion Coordinator for the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent in Africa.
Milanoi has worked as a human rights, gender equality, and inclusion consultant for different organizations, including Disability Rights International, the Kenya Association for the Intellectually Handicapped, Women Challenged to Challenge (WCC), and Humanity and Inclusion.
She is the co-founder of the Centre for Women’s Rights Advocacy (CWRA), a non-profit organization in Kenya that seeks to promote gender equality by challenging harmful cultural practices and institutional norms that are at the root of all forms of violence against women and girls.
Milanoi is a member of the Kenyan Network Advocating for the Rights of Women and Girls with Disabilities, which aims to strengthen advocacy, build a movement, and raise awareness of the rights of women and girls with disabilities.
Milanoi is an alumnus of the London School of Economics - Atlantic Fellows for Social and Economic Equity (AFSEE). Milanoi’s academic achievements are equally impressive. She holds an LL.M. from Syracuse University, specializing in Human Rights and Comparative Disability Law and Policy.
